where am i?

i have officially fallen off the face of the blogging earth. don't worry folks, i'm still here. let me tell you what has happened over the past couple of weeks...
1--my family and i went to florida for craigs 21st birthday. ya craig. florida was pretty cool. i don't think i would choose to live there on purpose, but i really liked the lakes that are everywhere and we saw an alligator!
2--i have a second job for the summer as the receptionist at Stacy Simpson's salon. i'm not starting until the beginning of June, but it sounds fun and now when you get your hair cut you can see both of us!
3--my darling Suzy graduated friday, May 25. ya suz! it was a good ceremony. Brent played the piano for the prelude, processional and recessional, my friend Max gave the best speech of all time, and Terry's commencement address was great! it was all so magical...
4--i went canoeing today with suzy, brent and a couple other people. it was really fun, but now i'm a little sunburnt on my face and i really feel like i could jump into a pool of cold, cold water...
well, that is about it. i will try to post more.
that is all.

so long old friend

on saturday morning at 8:43 am "the flesh" (my 1979 mercury zephyr) was donated to the Kidney foundation and towed away. as i watched it being strapped onto the tow truck i started to remember all of the great times i had in my first car...(insert little bubble cloud and "memory" music here). it was probably the 5th time driving it, and i got a flat tire, and then 3 days later the another tire blew out...that was fun. or when my mom had to drive it on HAFB and had all the guards give her weird looks...i wish i was there to see it. oh i could go on, and on, and on...
the zephyr has many traits that will stay with me forever. how about the name--the flesh--where did it come from you ask. well think about it...what color is the zephyr? and there you go. "the flesh" has, and always will be the perfect name.
or how about the noise it makes when you start it up, drive it around, or just look at it in general. some people may have hated the noise (like our neighbors...), but i saw it as a mighty beast waking up and ready for anything that came his way.
another trait would be the trunk. the trunk is so big that when my friends and i would go bouldering we took my car because it was the only one that could fit the "crash pad." i always said that i could fit 4 dead bodies in there if i needed too.
i might've been the only teenager that actually knew what an 8-track player was because my car had one. that's right, an actual 8-track...good times.
finally, the horn. it's a little lever that you push in, and it makes the most pathetic sound you have ever heard. the only time i used my horn was when we drove the flesh in the 4th of july parade last year in huntsville. if you were not at the parade to see all 9 of us stuffed into my car, than you definitely missed out...
so as i was saying, "the flesh" is no longer with us. some say it is a legend that will be known with little whispers around the corner of the globe, but all i know is when it was being towed away it was an amazing sight; like a triumphant warrior wounded from a long and hard battle. so long friend. you will be missed.
that is all.

get the facts straight!

most of you might have heard about the car accident that happened yesterday in Kaysville on 89...a truck drove through a yellow light and hit a UTA bus that was turning left, then spun and hit another car, and the driver was thrown from his truck. the driver of the truck is the son of Kelli's manager. kelli said that he had to be life flighted to the hospital and they didn't think he would even make it because he was in such bad shape. it's a terrible thing that happened, and when my mom and i watched the news on channel 5, they made it sound like it was a wreckless driver going mad through the streets. i think his exact words were "an accident on 89 made a slow commute for drivers"..."a truck ran a light, hit a bus, and then spun to hit another car. the driver of the truck was life flighted to the hospital, and Troopers are trying to find out who is at fault. the intersection has been cleared, and traffic in the area is back to normal."
oh, well once we find out whose fault it was that will make it all better! and don't worry about if the driver is still alive because the traffic in the area is back to normal. i couldn't believe they made it sound like he ran the light on purpose. get your facts straight!
in other news...
school is officailly over! done, complete, i closed the deal, it's a wrap, terminated, finalized, strike 3 you're out, here's the curtain call, victory is mine, hail the conquering hero, houston we are clear for take off. '
that is all.
