Things that must go...

over the week i've noticed some things that must go (go = leave this world...lifestyles...etc...) here we go...

number one thing that must go that i noticed over the week---
Old Man Bushy Eyebrows! not even old man, just man bushy eyebrows! it's the eyebrows that have wild, really long pieces going in every direction. it's good on you're grandpa, but on strangers it's bad. tame the beast, look in the mirror and trim those wooly mammoths!

this isn't the best picture, but you get the idea.

things that must go #2
Personalized License Plates! i like some of them (like the christian ones...), but most of the time they are all inside jokes and the people that are actually reading them weren't there to get the
"joke."

thing that must go #3 (this happens a lot at Johnny's)
people that come through the drive thru on their cell phone!
this is what happens...
me: open drive thru door, greet costomer. "hi, how are you?"
crazy person: stay on phone while rolling down window (this time interval is plenty of time to tell the person on the phone "hold on" but don't do it). wait 5 seconds after rolling down window to say "hold on." " oh ok...oh hold on a second."
me: because the window was down when you said the first greeting, say it again now that it's down and the crazy person is off the phone. "hi, what can i get for you?"
crazy person: "two gallons of 2%" directly get back on phone before she can tell you the price of the milk...
what's even worse is when the crazy person whispers their order to you so that they don't have to say "hold on" and pause their conversation! come on people, you know you are going to talk to me when you pull into the parking lot, you have plenty of time to say "hold on."

thing that must go #4
High School Musical 1, 2, all concert tours, CD's, clothing and anything else related to that crazy movie! it wouldn't be so bad, except for the fact that it's everywhere!

it's late and i can only think of 4 things that must go right now. if you have one (and i know you do), let me hear it.
have a good weekend!

Tag you're it! (continued from Jen's blog)

here you go Jen... my sunday started out with me getting ready for church. nothing special there. So i drove to Got Coffee to meet Micah because we were riding up together, and we headeed up trappers. driving trappers is one of my favorite things to do because it is b-e-a-utiful! i love that i get to drive trappers every sunday to go to church. it helps remind me of how big God is and that he is the one that is in control of everything. i love it. moving on...i love doing kids club house! this week i had the pleasure of teaching Sadie, Avery, Marle, Paige, Sky, Wynter, Teige, and Reice. we learned about what it means to be kind to people and why God wants us to. i love the answers that young minds give when you ask them questions about God (or about anything in general!). i asked "why should we be kind to people?" and Teige said "we should be kind to people even if they are mean to us." i love teaching sunday school because they always teach me something. after church Micah and i went to the coffee shop. i messed around on my computer while he fried his brains trying to understand math. after that we headed over to Glen-dawgs house for a BBQ. yum. after that Glendon, Amy, Pete, Jesse, Jeremy, Stacy, Micah, Ben, Holly and I rode our bikes to Weber State to see the fireworks. ok, so friday i visited the Matt's bike shop and picked me up a sweet Massi overspeed mountain bike. it's frame is blue and yellow and the fork is red! it's sweet! i was so excited to ride it to Weber, and we had a blast! we should ride our bikes every year because you don't have to find a parking spot for them, or wait in a line to get out of the parking lot! what a good idea! so we get to Weber and find the best spot ever! and then the magic starts...fireworks! fireworks are one of my favorite things. Micah discovered a new trick that will supposedly increase the enjoyment of watching fireworks...go cross-eyed and then it's like seeing 2 firework shows at once! that would be cool except for the fact that your head really hurts afterwards, and i kept telling him that his face is going to get stuck like that if he keeps doing it, so i guess Micah will be the only one using that method...
so overall it was a GREAT sunday!
let's keep the game going...Tag you're it! how was your monday?

Man's Best Friend...

2 Tuesdays ago our dog was the same old Wylie, but then that Wednesday he changed drastically. We took him to the vet and found out that the signal from his brain telling his legs to move was not reaching his back legs. We prayed that he would go back to the same crazy Wylie, but after the visit to the vet he kept getting worse. Today his body completely shut down and he couldn't stand, so it was time. I know it is cliche, but a dog truly is man's best friend; my best friend. So long puppy. you will be missed (except your stinky breath!), and you will always be our Wylie Coyote.
that is all.

where am i?

i have officially fallen off the face of the blogging earth. don't worry folks, i'm still here. let me tell you what has happened over the past couple of weeks...
1--my family and i went to florida for craigs 21st birthday. ya craig. florida was pretty cool. i don't think i would choose to live there on purpose, but i really liked the lakes that are everywhere and we saw an alligator!
2--i have a second job for the summer as the receptionist at Stacy Simpson's salon. i'm not starting until the beginning of June, but it sounds fun and now when you get your hair cut you can see both of us!
3--my darling Suzy graduated friday, May 25. ya suz! it was a good ceremony. Brent played the piano for the prelude, processional and recessional, my friend Max gave the best speech of all time, and Terry's commencement address was great! it was all so magical...
4--i went canoeing today with suzy, brent and a couple other people. it was really fun, but now i'm a little sunburnt on my face and i really feel like i could jump into a pool of cold, cold water...
well, that is about it. i will try to post more.
that is all.

so long old friend

on saturday morning at 8:43 am "the flesh" (my 1979 mercury zephyr) was donated to the Kidney foundation and towed away. as i watched it being strapped onto the tow truck i started to remember all of the great times i had in my first car...(insert little bubble cloud and "memory" music here). it was probably the 5th time driving it, and i got a flat tire, and then 3 days later the another tire blew out...that was fun. or when my mom had to drive it on HAFB and had all the guards give her weird looks...i wish i was there to see it. oh i could go on, and on, and on...
the zephyr has many traits that will stay with me forever. how about the name--the flesh--where did it come from you ask. well think about it...what color is the zephyr? and there you go. "the flesh" has, and always will be the perfect name.
or how about the noise it makes when you start it up, drive it around, or just look at it in general. some people may have hated the noise (like our neighbors...), but i saw it as a mighty beast waking up and ready for anything that came his way.
another trait would be the trunk. the trunk is so big that when my friends and i would go bouldering we took my car because it was the only one that could fit the "crash pad." i always said that i could fit 4 dead bodies in there if i needed too.
i might've been the only teenager that actually knew what an 8-track player was because my car had one. that's right, an actual 8-track...good times.
finally, the horn. it's a little lever that you push in, and it makes the most pathetic sound you have ever heard. the only time i used my horn was when we drove the flesh in the 4th of july parade last year in huntsville. if you were not at the parade to see all 9 of us stuffed into my car, than you definitely missed out...
so as i was saying, "the flesh" is no longer with us. some say it is a legend that will be known with little whispers around the corner of the globe, but all i know is when it was being towed away it was an amazing sight; like a triumphant warrior wounded from a long and hard battle. so long friend. you will be missed.
that is all.

get the facts straight!

most of you might have heard about the car accident that happened yesterday in Kaysville on 89...a truck drove through a yellow light and hit a UTA bus that was turning left, then spun and hit another car, and the driver was thrown from his truck. the driver of the truck is the son of Kelli's manager. kelli said that he had to be life flighted to the hospital and they didn't think he would even make it because he was in such bad shape. it's a terrible thing that happened, and when my mom and i watched the news on channel 5, they made it sound like it was a wreckless driver going mad through the streets. i think his exact words were "an accident on 89 made a slow commute for drivers"..."a truck ran a light, hit a bus, and then spun to hit another car. the driver of the truck was life flighted to the hospital, and Troopers are trying to find out who is at fault. the intersection has been cleared, and traffic in the area is back to normal."
oh, well once we find out whose fault it was that will make it all better! and don't worry about if the driver is still alive because the traffic in the area is back to normal. i couldn't believe they made it sound like he ran the light on purpose. get your facts straight!
in other news...
school is officailly over! done, complete, i closed the deal, it's a wrap, terminated, finalized, strike 3 you're out, here's the curtain call, victory is mine, hail the conquering hero, houston we are clear for take off. '
that is all.

my home away from home.

my grandparents own a small cabin up in the mountains called "little italy," and we ( me, mom, dad, craig and his friend zac) went up there today. i haven't been up to the cabin in a couple of years, so it was so nice to be there today. every winter and summer my family would go up to the cabin for as long as i can remember. there is so much to do up there, but today we busted out the motercycles. we had 3 of them, but only one of them came to life today. my grandpa bought the "100 honda" in 1979, and it still works! that thing is amazing. my grandma and i took a walk up to "dale's" house. he is a bit strange, but has 2 goats that rock. on our walk, my grandma told me that the cabin is her "heaven," and in a small way it is for me too. i love that place. it's more than just a childhood memory. i walked around the place looking at everything that used to look so huge when i was smaller. there's a post hanging off of the back porch that i couldn't even jump and touch when i was smaller, but today i almost bumped my head on it. i used to play in the dirt up there, and make forts out of the trees, and craig and i would chase animals, and breakfast always smelled better when you woke up in the cabin. i'm so happy that "little italy" is going to be around for a long time. i think that eveyone should have a place like the cabin. what's your place?
that is all.

a bit of information.

just thought i should let you know that Johnny's Dairy (the place that i work at), has opened a new store in North Ogden. they bought "Country Boy Dairy" (the one by sarah and jared's house), and you can now buy milk and ice cream. yum. so to all of you who live in that great North Ogden area, enjoy.

i think i fell into a black hole...

i think i fell into a black hole because i haven't posted in at least 2 weeks. strange, but i didn't really have anything to say.
tonight micah and i are supposed to go to our friends house and eat sushi. i have a feeling that i will either eat before i go, or eat when i get home. i'm not a big fan of sushi. i only like fresh COOKED fish. i'm not a very daring person when it comes to strange food, but i will at least try some of the sushi so that i can be considered "a good sport."
that is all.

i'm back, alive, and well.

a little update:
Amy and I coach the cheerleaders at CHS, and last week was the state basketball tournament, so from Tuesday night, to Saturday night i was with 12 crazy girls. it was rough, but nothing i can't handle. the boys took 5th place, and LCA took state. go them they deserved it. the games were so much fun to watch, and i lost my voice cheering the guys on. the tournament was in Richfield (3 1/2 hours away), and i have no idea why someone would live there on purpose.
it's good to be back.
that is all.

what a beautiful day!

so far this winter i have not
-made a snowman
-had a snowball fight
-play that fox game that my cousins tought me (amy do you remember that?)
-i haven't even made a snowball...

this snowfall has given me motivation to play in the snow...
what have you done this year in the snow?

here are some pictures of the snow in our backyard.

a very fun valentines day.

here are some pictures from Valentines Day.
Micah and I made dinner (well, mainly micah...i helped a bit). it was so good. i think the correct term is "garlic chicken with sun dried tomatos," some asparagus, stir-fry, bread...the works. we also ate brownies and ice cream, and topped the night off with the classic John Wayne movie "HATARI!"

what is valentines day without flowers...

he is so proud of his balsamic vinegar

the uninvited guest!

yum, yum, yum!

you have to watch those onions...they'll get ya!

enjoy!

this is the life.

Last night Micah and I went to the Gateway to hang out before we picked Glendon up from the airport. We were right outside of the Barnes & Noble and we saw a man that looked like my grandpa sitting in one of these Jazzy scooters BLOWING BUBBLES! It was the greatest thing i've ever seen. He was just sitting there blowing bubbles and looking so happy. I hope that when i'm old i can be as cool as him!

have i become a starving college student?!

well folks, that moment is here. Hilary and i are now paying my parents rent for living in our "apartment" in the basement. Hilary moved in last night (sunday), and what an eventful day that was. we should've had a parade or something...so i bought my own groceries, cleaning things, and all of that. i can tell you, that Target is so good, and let me tell you why. have you heard of their "dollar bins?" if you are at the Riverdale location, walk in the doors by the Taco Bell/Pizza Hut side, walk straight and you'll walk right into the most amazing thing there is for a starving college student...the dollar bins. the bins always have corny holiday goodies, and sometimes they have things worth looking at, but this time they had things worth buying. they had kitchen/cleaning supplies! buckets, sponges, brooms, dustpans, you name it. it was awesome, and all for 1 dollar! do it now!

i thought this picture was funny. it is not true, and i hope it NEVER is!

the super bowl extravaganza!

well who knew that you could learn so much on Super Bowl Sunday. for instance, i learned that
--"micah is spoiled,"
--my mom is "vain,"
--the bears "cool" factor goes as far as their theme song, (the....bears, the bears, the bears...)
--you are never too young to play "house,"
--Prince was not as cool as he sounds,
--avery can fit 6 skirts on at one time,
--if you scratch on the 8 ball you lose,
--the commercials were not as good as they usually are,
--mat is a cheater, and girls will always rule and boys will always drule at marbles,
--I love super bowl, the food, good commercials, and exciting half times...can't wait for next year to roll around.

my hands still smell like playdough.

As of today, I am officially reinstating "nap time."
I watched Sadie and Avery today while Jen went to Olivia's surgery, and Seth was at work. It was great! We ate breakfast, went to preschool, made elephants out of playdough, watched Aladdin, ate lunch, and the best part...Nap Time! The movie ended, and both girls yelled "Nap time!" If little kids need nap time, then why don't we!? it's the new rule. do it.
